The Stage is Set!

The 2012 Guardians of Spin Camp is finally ready to announce the 2012 and 2013 location of the camp. Two years after starting the successful camp, Guardians of Spin's loyal campers are jumping at the chance to go for a third year. What was the hold-up? A price-hike in facility costs at the previous GoS location would have raised the cost per camper over $100. Hot summer temperatures have made it necessary to reserve indoor camp space for health and safety reasons, so to keep the camp affordable, GoS had to search for a more cost-friendly location.

... and the Lucky New Location is ...

The UMKC Community Academy of Music and Dance won us over with their hospitality and accomodation, something that we hope to see repeated during camp week. The performing arts school, located on the edge of UMKC's campus, plans to feature Guardians of Spin in its 2013 Summer Camp catalogue. On top of that exciting news, UMKC helped provide us with a home for this year's camp as well. Many thanks to UMKC for accommodating our indoor space needs!

What's New?

Because UMKC's campus is also home to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, professional quality dance studios are available for GoS camp classes. This gives GoS campers a huge advantage in learning body movement concepts. Because the air-conditioned instruction space is complete with water fountains just outside the door, GoS staffers promise an invigorating morning of thorough dance instruction. In the event of inclement weather, indoor activity areas will be available throughout the day for equipment instruction.

Returning to the GoS Arena ...

Our amazing staff members have been closely following this year's camp planning, very aware of the roadblocks holding up the planning process. To save on administrative costs, they have committed to making their own travel arrangements, and some will drive over 1,000 miles just so they can contribute to GoS's uniquely wholesome performance training experience. Here's a big THANK YOU to all of the professionals involved in this camp who care enough to take charge and make it happen!
